Clock has raised plastic numbers with galvanized finish. At the center of each number is what looks like nail heads in the wood. I inserted a battery and the clock kept perfect time with my Timex wrist watch. The clock is made of medium density fiberboard, wood veneer, and plastic. Runs on 1 AA battery which I have included. On the underneath side of the number 9 is a small spot where a piece of the veneer had come off.
